Have you ever wanted to reinvent yourself, but get overwhelmed by the thought of figuring out how to get from point “A” to point “B”? An overhaul of your at-home skincare routine doesn’t have to be complicated!
To help, we put together a year-long skincare plan is to provide a structured approach to achieving and maintaining your optimal results. It is important to remember that studies show, our self esteem is directly tied to our overall health and wellness. How you feel about how you look matters!
To help you understand the importance of this plan, it’s worth considering that our health is the foundation upon which we build our lives. By taking care of ourselves and making proactive choices about our health and wellness, we can set ourselves up for success in all areas of our lives, whether it’s at work, in our relationships, or in our personal pursuits. This year-long plan is designed to help you do just that, by providing a roadmap for making lasting, positive changes that will benefit you for years to come.
Here is a year-long plan for home skincare suggestions:
- January: Start the year off by taking stock of your current skincare routine. Identify any potential issues or concerns, and make a list of goals for the year.
- February: Begin incorporating a weekly exfoliating treatment into your routine. Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells and can improve the appearance of your skin by helping to unclog pores and brighten the skin. These exfoliating peel pads are one of our favorites!
- March: Consider adding a facial mask to your routine, either once a week or every other week. Facial masks can help to deeply cleanse and nourish the skin, and there are a variety of options available to suit different skin types and concerns.
- April: As the weather starts to warm up, it’s important to switch to a lighter moisturizer to avoid clogging pores. Look for a moisturizer that is non-comedogenic, meaning it won’t clog pores, and is formulated for your specific skin type (e.g. oily, dry, combination).
- May: Begin using a facial serum as part of your skincare routine. Serums are lightweight, highly concentrated products that can help to target specific skin concerns, such as fine lines, dullness, or uneven skin tone. Our very own needle free serum is chock full of vitamins, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and so much more to protect and enhance your skin!
- June: As the summer sun starts to shine, it’s important to start using a broad-spectrum sunscreen on a daily basis. Real talk: we would love for you to use sunscreen year round. If you don’t already, be sure to start as the sun starts shining! Look for a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and be sure to apply it to all exposed areas of skin, including the face, neck, and hands. Without a doubt, our favorite tinted sunscreen is our own. Once you try this stuff, you won’t be able to go without! It is hydrating, protecting, and gives the best shear coverage.
- July: Consider incorporating a toner into your skincare routine. Toner can help to balance the pH of your skin and can also help to remove any remaining traces of dirt, oil, or makeup.
- August: As the weather starts to cool down, it’s a good idea to switch back to a heavier moisturizer to help protect and nourish the skin during the colder months.
- September: Consider adding a facial oil to your routine to help nourish and moisturize the skin. Facial oils can be particularly beneficial for those with dry or mature skin.
- October: As the seasons change, it’s a good idea to give your skincare routine a thorough review. Make any necessary adjustments based on any changes in your skin or your skincare goals.
- November: Consider incorporating a facial peel into your skincare routine, either at home or with the help of a professional. Facial peels can help to improve the appearance of the skin by removing dead skin cells and promoting cell turnover. This isn’t technically “at home,” depending on the depth. Our favorite professional peel is VI Peel.
- December: As the year comes to a close, take some time to reflect on your skincare journey. What has worked well for you? What changes do you want to make in the coming year? Use this time to set some new skincare goals and plan for the year ahead.
Remember, everyone’s skin is different, so it’s important to find a skincare routine that works for you and meets your specific skin needs. Consult with a skincare professional if you have any concerns or questions about your skincare routine.
